Swim at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos
Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos features four pools. At the center of the resort is the main pool, where daily activities such as water yoga, volleyball, and aerobics take place.
Adjacent to the main pool is the infinity pool, which offers ocean views and has a swim-up bar. Both pools provide various seating options, including lounge chairs, cabanas, and in-water lounges.
For a quieter experience, the adults-only pool is located off to one side of the resort, away from the busy central area. This pool also has a bar and offers both in-water and pool deck seating options for guests ages 18 and over.
Swimming for the Kids
On the opposite side of the property from the adults-only pool is the kids’ pool, featuring slides, dump buckets, and a mini-waterpark.
Finding pool area seats depends on the resort’s occupancy during your stay. During our shoulder-season trip, we had no trouble finding spots, but arriving early increased the chances of securing a prime location or in-water seat. Despite signs asking guests not to save seats, people would place personal items and towels on chairs before heading to breakfast.
Pool cabanas were available for rent, ranging from $105-$180 per day, depending on type, location, and included amenities. Some cabanas were available day-of, but those in prime locations often had to be booked several days in advance. If you’re interested in reserving one, contact the concierge directly.

What to Eat and Drink at Hyatt Ziva
Quick Rundown of Restaurants & Bars at Hyatt Ziva
El Molino (Mexican)
If you didn’t get enough Mexican food at lunch, this is the place to go. We enjoyed chips with guacamole and salsa, burritos, enchiladas, and churros. Everything was delicious, and we wished we had more nights to visit again.
Maria’s Tacos at Baja Bar
At the adults-only pool, the bar serves fresh tacos known as Maria’s Tacos during lunch. Maria herself was grilling the tacos, which were only available in beef. We loved them so much that we often went back for seconds. Don’t miss out on these tacos; they’re worth the walk to the Baja Bar.
Zaffiro (Italian)
This beachside restaurant offers a stunning location for dinner. We had wine, salads, penne pasta, lasagna, and dessert. The lasagna was a highlight of our trip. Make sure to visit, especially at sunset.
Cortez (Mexican/South American)
Located beachside, we had breakfast here twice. The views are amazing, and the menu offers a wide range of options. The smoothies were a great start to the day, and they serve classic breakfast dishes like eggs, pancakes, and French toast.
Bon Vivant (French)
An adults-only restaurant where we enjoyed bread, salad, drinks, steak, and dessert. There is a dress code, so you’ll need to change after a day at the pool.
La Plaza (Buffet)
The international buffet has a different theme each night, such as Mediterranean, Indian, BBQ, and Mexican. Breakfast was our favorite meal here, with a consistent selection. The buffet is a quick and easy dinner option, especially if you like the nightly theme.
Coco Loco (Snack Bar / Tacos)
During lunch, Coco Loco serves pizza, burgers, and fries. Skip the burgers, but the pizza and fries were good and came out quickly. In the evening, it becomes a taco shop with amazing flank steak tacos.
El Catrin Food Truck (Quesadillas)
Located poolside, this food truck offers lunchtime quesadillas with various meat options. Skip the steak and head to Maria’s Tacos if that’s what you want, but the chicken and shrimp quesadillas are solid choices.
Healthy Bar (Smoothies / Bowls)
In the center pool area, the Healthy Bar serves smoothies in the morning and poke bowls for lunch. We tried several smoothies and bowls, and they were all good. The menu board lists all options and ingredients.
Hacienda Baja Grill (Steakhouse)
While the burgers were disappointing, the salads were great. The steak was overcooked, making this the least impressive restaurant during our trip.
Coffee House (Drinks / Snacks)
Open 24/7 next to the lobby, the Coffee House offers specialty coffees, snacks, ice cream, donuts, and sandwiches. We went every morning for coffee, but the donuts were the highlight.
Bars Around the Hyatt Ziva Property
– Spirit of 1968: Sports bar with games.
– El Piano Lobby Bar: Nightly entertainment.
– Baja Bar: Poolside in the adults-only section, home of Maria’s Tacos.
– Bar Azul: Swim-up bar in the infinity pool.
